SJT (Super Jumbo Tubular) is Okaya's lower, more compact tubular design, offered from 110Ah to 160Ah for home power-backup requirements with an inverter battery for home. This guide covers the SJT models, their declared backup hours, size, upkeep and warranty so you can match one to your household load.
SJT stands for Super Jumbo Tubular. It is one of the container designs in Okaya's tubular inverter battery range, alongside the 90Ah JXT and the taller TT (Tall Tubular) design. SJT covers 110Ah to 160Ah and is the lower design of the two main tubular formats. Okaya states that XBD+ gives up to 15 to 20% longer backup than a conventional tubular battery of the same Ah capacity.
For a side-by-side comparison, read SJT vs TT inverter batteries.
The current range has four SJT models. Total warranty is a flat period plus a pro-rata period:
1. 110Ah SJT: 48 months (24+24).
2. 140Ah SJT: 48 months (24+24).
3. 160Ah SJT, 48-month: 48 months (24+24).
4. 160Ah SJT, 60-month: 60 months (36+24).
Okaya declares Certified Backup Hours for every model, tested under the UMHD (Urban Metro Heavy Duty) load cycle in NABL-accredited laboratories and printed on the packaging. In hours:minutes, at 400 W, 300 W, 200 W and 100 W:
1. 110Ah SJT: 1:45, 2:45, 4:55, 11:30.
2. 140Ah SJT: 2:30, 3:50, 6:35, 15:05.
3. 160Ah SJT, 48 months: 3:00, 4:30, 7:50, 17:20.
4. 160Ah SJT, 60 months: 3:05, 4:40, 8:00, 18:40.
Okaya states that real backup varies with temperature, battery age, the inverter used and the battery's state of charge.
Add up the wattage you want to run with the inverter power calculator, then compare the declared hours above at the closest load. Okaya suggests around 160Ah for a typical 2BHK. For larger loads or longer backup, Okaya's home inverter battery capacity options also include 210Ah, 260Ah and 310Ah TT models. The 160Ah is also covered in the Okaya PROPower 160Ah SJT battery.
SJT batteries from 110Ah to 160Ah measure 540 x 210 x 317 mm. The 160Ah 60-month PROPower model has a listed net weight of 50.3 kg. Check that your inverter trolley or shelf fits the footprint. The full inverter battery size details for each model are on the product listing.
Okaya states that its SJT batteries recharge about 15% faster than conventional Jumbo Tubular batteries. That is not a comparison with TT, and the inverter's own charging also affects how quickly the battery recovers between power cuts.
Okaya states that most models need only 1 to 2 water top-ups a year. SJT batteries have all water inlets on one side in a 6x1 layout, six ceramic water-level indicators show the level, and Okaya's SJT product page lists a vent-plug and float design. Use the water specified in the product manual or by Okaya Care for your model.

Which SJT battery is right for my home?
Okaya suggests around 160Ah for a typical 2BHK. Add up your wattage and compare the declared backup hours of the 110Ah, 140Ah and 160Ah models at a load close to yours.
How much backup does a 160Ah SJT battery give?
The 160Ah SJT with a 60-month warranty is certified at 3:05 at 400 W, 4:40 at 300 W, 8:00 at 200 W and 18:40 at 100 W. Real backup varies with temperature, battery age and the inverter used.
How big is an SJT battery?
SJT batteries from 110Ah to 160Ah measure 540 x 210 x 317 mm. The 160Ah 60-month PROPower model has a listed net weight of 50.3 kg.
How many batteries does an inverter need?
It depends on the inverter's system voltage: one battery for 12V, two for 24V and four for 48V.
How often does an SJT battery need water?
Okaya states that most models need only 1 to 2 top-ups a year. Use the water specified in the product manual or by Okaya Care.
What warranty do SJT batteries have?
The 110Ah, 140Ah and 160Ah 48-month models carry 48 months (24+24), and the 160Ah 60-month model carries 60 months (36+24).
What is the difference between SJT and TT?
SJT is the lower design for 110Ah to 160Ah, and TT is the taller design for 160Ah to 310Ah. Okaya's SJT vs TT guide compares them in detail.
